Our roots

Building on Jill’s initial discovery, SenQuil® was developed to support sensitive and easily compromised skin, offering targeted comfort and relief for a wide range of irritation-prone skin concerns.

Jill sourced advice from a biomedical scientist passionate about working with quality products with a positive clinical impact, to further develop SenQuil®.

Early consumer feedback highlighted the formulation’s ability to calm and support sensitive skin, helping reduce discomfort associated with dryness, reactivity, and everyday skin stress.

Why SenQuil became personal

My experience of perimenopause changed the way I understood skin. As dryness, sensitivity, and reactivity became harder to ignore, I realised how few products truly supported skin gently and comfortably. That experience became the starting point for SenQuil, and for the original ointment inspired by a recipe passed down through three generations — a skincare range created to restore comfort, respect the barrier, and care for skin through change.

SenQuil became deeply personal during my own experience of perimenopause, when I began facing changes in my skin that were difficult to ignore. Dryness, sensitivity, and reactivity became part of daily life, and I found myself searching for products that felt genuinely supportive rather than harsh or overcomplicated.

Out of that experience, the original ointment was born. It was created from a personal need — to find something that could help comfort and support my own skin when it felt at its most unsettled. Its origins were deeply personal, with the recipe passed down through three generations, and that heritage became the foundation of an ointment that brought comfort, care, and meaning to my own skin journey. As I began using it, I experienced firsthand how important the right formulation could be in restoring comfort and helping the skin feel more protected and balanced.

That moment became the beginning of SenQuil. What started as one ointment, created from lived experience, grew into a wider range built on the same founding principle: that skincare should support the skin barrier, respect sensitivity, and help care for skin through change.

Grounded in science and shaped by personal experience, SenQuil was created to offer calm, considered formulations for skin that need comfort as much as performance.
